Cathryn Rogers

Cathryn has been interested in music since an early age, playing the recorder until switching to flute at the age of 12.
She started playing percussion in 2009 at the Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band and was part of their successive promotions from the 4th to the 1st section. Whilst studying music at the University of Huddersfield, Cathryn signed for the Barnsley Metropolitan Band. In 2013 they won the best percussion prize and promotion at the Yorkshire area.
After graduating Cathryn moved back to the Ireland Colliery Chesterfield Band before moving in 2016 to the Blidworth Welfare band which saw another trip to the National Finals in Cheltenham and her first time playing in the Championship section.
In February of 2016 Cathryn took on the role of Musical Director at the Deepcar Brass Band in Sheffield. Since taking the band on, they have received their two highest placings in the band’s history at the Yorkshire Areas, and have achieved other success at various entertainment and test piece contests.

Cathryn is delighted to become part of the team at Yorkshire Imps.
