Bolsover saw the band compete against 12 other championship section bands, picking up the Best Soloist Prize for Ginnette Baker’s rendition of Over the Rainbow, arranged by Ray Farr, with adjudicator Roger Webster remarking: “almost forgot to write, great playing from band and soloist.”

New Faces at Imps

We would like to welcome David Notley who has joined the band on Soprano Cornet. He has played with top flight bands such as the Brighouse and Rastrick Band, Black Dyke Mills Band and more recently Wingates, whom he helped secure a place for the upcoming National Finals in London.

We would like to welcome back Henning Walker back to the cornet section. Henning was a valuable player and we are pleased he has returned to Huddersfield to carry on his studies and more IMPortantly, returning back to the band. We also welcome Peter Kench who has joined the cornet line from Barton Town Band.

We are sad to say goodbye to Matthew on 2nd trombone, but wish him all the best in his new career path. We are happy to announce that Lewis Blackmore will be replacing Matthew.

We would also like to welcome Charles Beresford to the Bass section who has recently graduated from the University of Huddersfield and the tuition of Shawn Crowther, and receiving the Harry Mortimer Memorial Trust Award and Armitage Brass Band award. Also joining our bass section, we have John Grayson joining us a very successful tenure with Stannington Brass, who have been in fine form and look forward to promotion to the 1st section.
