It is with great sadness to announce that Stig Mærsk’s time with the Yorkshire Imps has come to an end.
Stig finished his last contest with the Yorkshire Imps this Sunday at the Yorkshire Areas.
Stig added: “I would like to send a massive thank you to the Yorkshire Imperial Urquhart Travel Band for a very good two years together. I have made a lot of good friends there, and their commitment and kindness is extraordinary.
I wish them the very best for the future, and I hope they can achieve the goals we set out together.”
After a busy summer for the Yorkshire Imps, we have welcomed some excellent players to the band to strengthen the band even further.
We would like to welcome Christopher Newbery on Solo Tenor Horn. He has moved from 2nd section band, Barnsley Brass and has fitted in well after his great debut performance at Doc Martins.
We would also like to welcome Smain Mokrane on Assistant Principal Cornet. Smain has come to Imps from EYMS as is a great addition to our Solo Cornet section, along with recent signing Andy Hunt from Skelmanthorpe.
Another addition to the line-up is Bob Morton on Solo Baritone. Bob has played with the band before and has kindly accepted the Solo Baritone position. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ea Maersk for her hard work and excellent playing with the band and wish her every success and happiness.
Imps have strengthened the band immensely over the past year and are looking to fill the line-up. If you wish to be a part of the Yorkshire Imperial Brass Band then contact us through our contact form page. We are accepting applications for the following seats:
– Repiano Cornet
– 2nd Baritone
